Description
This is the 3-ball poodle tier topiary version of the Hetzii Column Juniper, a conifer with feathery, rich green, evergreen foliage that provides texture and outstanding form in the landscape. It is excellent for growing in the ground or containers as a focal point specimen, or two can be used to frame an entrance.
Landscape & Garden Uses
The Hetzii Column Juniper 3-Ball Poodle Tier Topiary is ideal as a focal point specimen in sunny landscape settings or home foundation plantings, where two can be used to frame corners or an entrance. It is a fine addition to topiary gardens, formal gardens, conifer gardens, Asian theme gardens, and rock gardens.
Growing Preferences
The Hetzii Column Juniper 3-Ball Poodle Tier Topiary is easy to grow in well-drained soil and full to mostly sun. Constantly soggy or wet soil is problematic. To maintain a tight form, trim in spring and again in late summer if necessary. Feed plants growing in the ground in late winter or early spring with a slow-release shrub & tree fertilizer. Feed plants growing in containers with a slow-release granular or liquid plant food listed for use on ornamental shrubs or trees growing in pots. When growing in a container, choose one with a drainage hole(s) in the bottom. We suggest lining the pot's interior with a porous landscape fabric such as weed barrier cloth to prevent the drainage hole from clogging with roots. Fill the container with bagged top soil or a 50/50 mixture of the bagged top soil and potting mix. Avoid the use of native soil from the ground.
