Jacobsen's Pyramid Japanese Larch is the narrowest form we know of among the Larix kaempferi varieties. A fast grower adding 12 to 18 inches in height per year, when all grown up it might reach around 20 feet tall or so and 4 to 8 feet wide. How wide it grows is up to you. To maintain a more narrow form, an annual trimming on older plants is recommended. Otherwise, though young plants will be very narrow and more dense, with age the tree will become a little more open and broadly pyramidal if left to grow naturally. One way or the other, the branches all grow upward and are clothed in lush, bright bluish green new growth maturing to a darker blue-green as they mature. Cooler temperatures in fall bring lovely golden to bronze shades shades. After the needles drop the attractive reddish bark takes the stage adding interest in the landscape during winter. A tree for all seasons, Jacobsen's Pyramid is an elegant and statuesque accent in small or large landscape spaces and home foundation plantings, or use two to frame an entryway.

Jaconsen's Pyramid Japanese Larch is ideal for use as a vertical accent tree in small to large landscape spaces. Two can be used to frame an entrance and also nice in spaced groupings where space allows. It can also be grown in pots, planters and other containers that can be situated on patios and around other outdoor sitting and living spaces. A fine addition to conifer gardens, rock gardens and Asian theme gardens.
