Iris sibirica 'Jeweled Crown'

Easy to grow, trouble-free, and eye-catching as a flower can be, the Jewelled Crown Siberian Iris features exquisite flowers with incredibly contrasting color patterns. The large, 4 to 5-inch diameter flowers feature light purple-blue standards (top petals) perched atop lower, rich wine purple falls (lower petals), each petal displaying a prominent white and yellow signal. The flowers are perched atop sturdy stems, making them excellent for cutting and display in a vase or floral arrangement. A taller growing selection, Jewelled Crown forms a dense vertical clump of rich green sword-shaped leaves up to 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide or more over time. It fits well as an accent in smaller garden spaces and containers or grouped in larger garden beds and landscape borders. Highly adaptable and hardy in USDA Zones 3a to 9b, you can grow this one in moist but well-drained to wet soils and full sun to part shade. Jewelled Crown is one of those flowering beauties that will always have you looking forward to its glorious late spring to early summer bloom.

Growing in a vertical clump up to 36 inches tall in bloom and gradually spreading to 18 inches or more in width, the Jewelled Crown Siberian Iris is ideal for use as an accent in smaller garden spaces and containers. The Jewelled Crown Siberian Iris is easy to grow when planted in moist but well-drained to wet soils of average to low fertility in full sun to part shade. For best flowering, we suggest 4 hours or more of direct sunlight daily. Very low maintenance, after cutting the foliage back to the ground in late winter, we feed plants annually in late winter with organic plant food.
