Description

Excellent for garden beds, pots or bonsai, 'Joga' is an evergreen Satsuki hybrid azalea that features LOADS of 2.3 to 3" diameter unusually colored white flowers with fuchsia to purple freckles. Occasionally some flowers may be solid soft pink or purple. Joga grows in a somewhat dense mound to 3 feet tall and up to 4 feet wide that is clothed in dark green pointed leaves which provide fine texture in the garden.  We love this adorable azalea with big flower power and think you will too!

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing in a low mound 2 to 3 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide, the Joga Azalea is great for growing in garden beds or containers and is excellent for bonsai. In garden beds it is ideal for use in groupings, mass plantings, or as a border along paths and walkways in landscape and woodland borders and home foundation plantings. A fine addition to bonsai gardens, Asian-theme gardens, pink theme gardens, Azalea gardens, cottage gardens, and partially shaded woodland gardens.

Suggested Spacing:  2.5 to 3 feet apart for solid hedges; 7 feet or more apart for space between plants

Note:  For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 6a, where this Azalea variety is not reliably winter hardy outdoors, you can enjoy it in containers that can be moved indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.

Growing Preferences

Evergreen Azaleas are easy to grow when planted right and in the right spot. They prefer a moist but well-drained and acidic soil that is rich in organic matter and part sun. Morning sun with afternoon shade or filtered sun is ideal. Moderate drought tolerance when established.
