Description

A miniature selection purrfect for small garden spaces, borders and containers, the 'Kitten Around' Catmint forms a tight, round mound of aromatic foliage to only 12 inches in height. Over a long blooming period from early summer to early fall, abundant spikes of periwinkle-blue flowers will provide a soothing effect in the garden, for humans that is. On the other hand, like catnip, the broken stems of this plant will make your cat go crazy:-)

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing 12 to 14 inches tall and 18 to 24" inches wide, Kitten Around Catmint is ideal for use in garden beds or containers. It is a nice accent in small garden spaces or in groupings or as a border in larger spaces. Also nice as a solo or mixed with other sun-loving plants in pots, planters or other containers. Plant it near patios, decks, porches and other outdoor living areas where the fragrance and the pretty blue flowers can be enjoyed from close up. A natural choice for herb gardens and a fine addition to coastal areas, fragrance gardens, purple theme gardens and rock gardens.

Growing Preferences

Kitten Around Catmint is easy to grow in most any somewhat loose and moist to somewhat dry soil of average fertility and full to mostly sun. It will tolerate dry periods, but flowers best with a moist soil. Does not like constantly soggy or wet soil.
