Description
If you've had problems with foliage burn on yellow or chartreuse leaved Heuchera, you'll love and appreciate 'Lemon Love', a recent introduction with almost no burning and exceptional heat tolerance thanks to its Heuchera villosa parentage. It forms a luscious mound to 14 inches tall and up to 3 feet wide of pretty, ruffled, chartreuse and yellow leaves. The foliage color will be more lime green in deeper shade and more yellow with more sun. Though grown for the spectacular foliage color, in early to mid summer flower scapes bearing clusters of creamy white flowers will be appreciated by the butterflies and hummingbirds, and they're excellent for cutting for use in floral arrangements. A great choice in garden beds or containers for brightening up your shady areas!
'Lemon Love' is a Heuchera villosa hybrid. The H. villosa species is a larger growing, later blooming type that exhibits an increased tolerance of high heat and humidity over other species. It is native to the southeastern United States.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing in a mound to 10 to 14 inches tall and 30 to 36 inches wide, Lemon Love Heuchera is ideal for use as a solo or combined with other plants in containers, as an accent or grouping in shady to partially shaded garden beds and landscape borders, or as a border plant along paths and walkways. A fine addition to Heuchera gardens, woodland gardens, yellow theme gardens, rock gardens and perennial shade gardens.
In garden beds or containers, we like to combine Heuchera plants with other Heuchera varieties hosta lilies, perennial ferns and other part shade to shade loving plants and trees.
Suggested Spacing: 30 inches apart for mass plantings; 4 feet or more apart for space between plants

Growing Preferences
When planted right, and in the right spot Heuchera are easy to grow.
Sun Preference: Though Heuchera might tolerate full sun in cooler zones north of USDA Zone 7, we think they looom and perform their best with shade or filtered sun during the afternoon hours. If grown in full sun, consistent moisture is very important. Scorch and general foliage decline may occur if soils are allowed to dry out for too long.
Soil Preferences: Heuchera prefer a moist but well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Constantly soggy or wet soil is problematic. In the warmer climates of the southern zones plants are often evergreen, retaining nice foliage color throughout the winter season. In colder, northern zones foliage may discolor or die back over a harsh winter. Simply prune unsightly foliage away before new growth begins to emerge in late winter or early spring. Plant with the top of the root ball even with ground level. Care and maintenance are minimal. Feed in spring with an organic plant food.
