Description
The Lemon Pfizz Juniper is a colorful, soft-textured, hardy, and easy-to-grow compact evergreen conifer that grows 3 to 4 feet tall and 6 feet wide when fully grown. Its soft, feathery-looking foliage emerges vibrant lemon-yellow throughout the season and matures to a blue-green hue on the interior of the plant for a two-tone effect. Its low and spreading habit, along with its outstanding color and texture, make it a fine selection as a border in landscape islands or as groundcover to beautify and stabilize soil on slopes. It is also a lovely accent plant in rock gardens and home foundation plantings. A bright eye-catcher that will light up the landscape year-round!
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 3 to 4 feet tall and about 6 feet wide, the Lemon Pfizz Juniper is ideal as an accent plant in smaller garden spaces. It is superb for beautifying and stabilizing soil on embankments, slopes, and hillsides or as a lovely border in sunny landscape beds and islands. It is also suitable as an accent or foundation plant in home foundation plantings. Those with an artistic eye and skillful pruning hand can create a pom-pom topiary with it. It is a fine addition to conifer gardens, rock gardens, yellow-themed gardens, and xeric gardens (low water needs).
Suggested Spacing: 10 feet apart for space between plants
Growing Preferences
The Lemon Pfizz Juniper is easy to grow in moist, well-drained soil of average fertility. Once established, it is highly drought tolerant. As with many other conifers, constantly soggy or wet soils can be problematic, leading to root rot or other harmful plant diseases. So make sure to plant it in well-drained soil. It responds well to pruning for size control and shaping purposes, even creating pom-pom topiary for those with an artistic eye and pruning skills.
