Description
A cute and adorable ornamental grass that lives up to its name, Pennisetum 'Little Bunny' is a miniature hardy Fountain Grass that forms a neat, rounded, arching mound of finely textured dark green foliage only 12 to 16 inches tall and maybe 24 inches wide, which makes it ideal for use in small or narrow spaces. From mid to late summer abundant thin stems bearing showy creamy white flower spikes resembling bunny tails rise just above the foliage. The flowers turn a buff color when dry and are excellent for fresh or dried in floral arrangements. With the arrival of cooler temperatures in fall the foliage turns bright-golden yellow remaining attractive into winter. A fine grassy accent perfect for small garden spaces and containers or in stunning groupings or rows where space allows.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 12 to 16 inches tall and maybe 24 inches wide when all grown up, Little Bunny Fountain Grass is ideal for use as an accent in small garden spaces or containers or in groupings or as a low border in sunny landscape borders and home foundation plantings. Excellent in rows to fill narrow spaces. A fine addition to ornamental grass gardens, rock gardens, around garden ponds, white gardens, Asian and Zen gardens and cut flower gardens.
Spacing: 18 to 20 inches for solid groupings; 3 feet or more for space between plants

Growing Preferences
Fountain Grass is very easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil of average to low fertility and full to mostly sun. Constantly soggy soil or standing water is problematic. Plants are quite drought tolerant once established. Maintenance is little to none. A damaged flower can be removed any time during the season. Foliage should be cut back near the ground annually before new leaves begin to emerge in late winter or early spring.
