Description
An amazingly floriferous and super hardy Agastache that thrives in USDA Zones 5-10 and blooms over a long period, 'Morello' is one the hummingbirds and butterflies will thank you for planting! From early summer all the way through fall, it features abundant, very large spiked clusters packed with tubular flowers in pretty shades of rose pink. The aromatic, mint-scented leaves clothe a bushy plant 2 to 2.5 feet tall in bloom and 18 to 24 inches wide. Morello is a fine selection for smaller garden spaces and containers, which can be situated on sunny patios and around other outdoor sitting spaces where the pretty flowers and hummingbirds and butterflies feeding can be enjoyed from close up.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 2 to 2.5 feet tall in bloom and 18 to 24 inches wide, Morello Agastache is ideal for use as an accent in smaller garden spaces and containers or grouped where space allows in larger perennial borders. It is a fine addition to hummingbird gardens, butterfly gardens, beneficial pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, pink theme gardens, fragrance gardens, and cottage gardens.
Growing Preferences
Morello Agastache is very easy to grow in moist but well-drained soil of average fertility and full to mostly sun for best flowering. We suggest at least 6 hours of sunlight daily for best foliage density and flowering. A well-drained soil is a must, as Agastache does not like wet feet, especially during winter. It is quite drought tolerant when established, though plants will appreciate supplemental water during prolonged periods of summer drought. Deadheading spent flowers encourages heavier rebloom throughout the season.
