Description
A cold-hardy succulent that can handle temperatures down to -20F in USDA Zone 5 and blazing heat in USDA Zone 9, the Ocean Sunset Orange Glow Ice Plant wows with color. From late spring through late summer to early fall, its carpet of succulent foliage is smothered in tricolor flowers with glowing yellow centers surrounded by a halo of orange petals tipped in hot pink. During the rest of the year, the evergreen foliage forms a weed-blocking dense carpet of emerald green succulent leaves that reach 4-6 inches tall, spreading to 14 inches or more wide. It is easy to grow and thrives in sunny, dry spots-well-draining soil is a must. You might also be happy that the deer and rabbits turn their nose to it. Excellent for garden beds and containers.

Growing 4 to 6 inches tall and spreading to form a dense carpet 14 inches or more wide, the Ocean Sunset Orange Glow Ice Plant is ideal in small garden spaces or containers or in groupings or as a border where space allows. It looks right at home tucked around rocks and boulders. It is a fine addition to succulent and cactus gardens, rock gardens, and the Xeriscape (low water needs).

Growing Preferences
Orange Glow Ice Plant is easy to grow in moist or dry, well-drained soil of average or low fertility and full sun to part shade. It does not like wet feet, so well-drained soil is essential. Five or more hours of sunlight daily is suggested for best flowering and overall performance. Once established, it is highly drought tolerant.
