Description
One of the hardiest and easiest roses you'll ever grow, Oso Easy Lemon Zest is a dwarf that reaches 2 to 3 feet tall and wide, making it a perfect fit for small garden spaces and containers. It lights up the garden late spring through summer up your garden from late spring with its bright lemon-yellow semi-double flowers that stand out against healthy dark green foliage. With outstanding cold hardiness to -30F and heat hardiness as far south as zone 9b, gardeners almost anywhere in the country can enjoy growing this low-maintenance, disease-resistant rose.
Landscape & Garden Uses
The Oso Easy Lemon Zest Rose is excellent for garden beds and containers. Growing only 2 to 3 feet tall and equally wide, it is ideal for a colorful accent in smaller garden spaces or groupings or as a low hedge where space allows. Its diminutive stature lends well to growing in pots, planters, and other containers situated on or around sunny to partially shaded patios and other outdoor yellow-theme gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 2.5 feet apart for groupings or a low hedge; 5 feet or more apart for space between plants
Growing Requirements
Oso Easy Lemon Zest Rose is easy to grow in moist, well-drained soil with average fertility in full sun to partial shade. As with all other roses, it requires the morning sun to dry the morning dew from its leaves, which prevents powdery mildew from forming. Some afternoon shade or filtered sun is okay. We suggest 6 hours of direct sunlight per day for best flowering. No pruning is required; however, the plants respond well to it. Deadheading spent flowers will encourage quicker and heavier rebloom throughout the seasons. The bush can be cut back to 4 to 6 inches above the ground before new growth emerges in late winter or early spring. Plants will then quickly flush out new growth and start blooming with the arrival of spring temperatures.
