Description

An extremely disease resistant and vigorous shrub rose anyone can grow, the award-winning 'Peppermint Pop' Rose features abundant, very double, two-toned blooms in shade of pink and white that begin appearing in spring and keep coming through the season until frost. The flowers are slightly fragrant. Blooming continuously from spring to frost, the low-maintenance rose will not disappoint, adding personality and drama to garden beds, patio containers and home foundation plantings.

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing 4 feet tall and 3 to 3.5 feet wide, the Peppermint Pop Rose is ideal for use as a specimen, in groupings, or as a colorful hedge in landscape and flowering shrub borders. Also nice as an accent in home foundation plantings. A fine addition to rose gardens, fragrance gardens, cottage gardens and red theme color gardens.

Suggested Spacing: 3 feet apart for solid hedges; 6 feet apart for space between plants

Growing Preferences

Peppermint Pop Rose is easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil of average fertility and full sun to part shade. As with all other roses, to avoid powdery mildew, morning sun is a must to dry dew from the leaves. Afternoon shade or filtered sun is fine. We suggest 6 hours of direct sun light for best flowering.

Maintenance is minimal. Peppermint Pop Rose do not require pruning, however, they do benefit from it. To keep your rose full and bushy from year to year prune the branches back to about 15-18 inches above the ground in late winter or early spring. After this hard pruning the bush will quickly flush out and start blooming with the arrival of warmer spring temperatures. Deadheading spent flowers through the season is not necessary however will encourage new buds and flowers. Disease resistant and self-curing.
