Description
The Pinky Posy Snowberry is a North American native deciduous flowering shrub anyone in USDA Zones 3 to 7 can easily grow and enjoy. Late spring to early summer brings a profusion of somewhat inconspicuous flowers, but the butterflies, beneficial pollinators, and hummingbirds will enjoy them. The most impressive color show among berry-producing plants follows the bloom when a profusion of plump, candy-pink berries adorn the plant. Many bird species will feast on the berries through fall and winter. Attractive mint-green eucalyptus-like foliage is a lovely backdrop for the berries, giving the plant a beautiful appearance in the landscape. Amazingly adaptable and easy to grow, Pink Posy is a cheery accent, grouping, or hedge in landscape and garden borders and containers.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 3 to 4 feet tall and equally as wide, the Pink Posy Snowberry is ideal for an accent, grouping, or hedge in sunny landscape, woodland, and garden borders. It is also suitable for containers that can be situated on or around patios and other outdoor sitting or living spaces. A fine addition to butterfly and hummingbird gardens, pink theme gardens, wildlife gardens, native plant gardens, and cottage gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 3 feet for solid hedges or groupings; 6 feet or more for space between plants
Growing Preferences
Pink Posy Snowberry is very easy to grow in a wide range of soils, preferring a moist but well-drained soil of average to even low fertility and full sun to partial shade. We suggest 5 hours or more of direct sunlight per day for the best flower and berry production. It is drought tolerant when established. No pruning is necessary; however, it responds well to it for size control or shaping purposes.
