One of the best performing and most beautiful roses we've ever grown, Plum Perfect Rose is a floribunda with so many wow-factor attributes it's hard to know where to start in describing it. Continually from spring to frost, it features abundant clusters of gorgeous, large and fully formed blooms in an shade of smoky plum-lavender with a sweet floral fragrance. The long lasting blooms hold their color well, even in the blistering heat of mid summer, and cut flowers displayed in a vase or floral arrangement hold their beauty for over a week. The blooms start coming in spring and keep coming continually to frost. The dark green lustrous and blackspot-resistant foliage is remarkable as well and the perfect backdground to show off the blooms. If this were a houseplant, people would want to grow it just for the foliage. A vigorous grower to around 4 to 5 feet tall and nearly as wide, it thrives equally well in garden beds or pots. Extremely hardy, Plum Perfect will thrive in triple-digit heat and as much humidity and blazing sun as you give it, growing just as well in pots as it does in garden beds. Growing 4 to 5 feet tall and wide, the Plum Perfect Rose is ideal for use as a specimen, in groupings or as a colorful hedge in sunny landscape and flowering shrub borders. It is so hardy and attractive we have no problem suggesting it for use in home foundation plantings. A fine addition to rose gardens, fragrance gardens, cutting gardens, cottage gardens and purple theme gardens.

Suggested Spacing: 3-3.5 feet apart for hedges; 7 feet apart for space between plants

The Plum Perfect Rose is easy to grow in a moist but well-drained soil of average or high fertility in full sun to part shade. As with all other roses, to avoid powdery mildew, morning sun is a must to dry dew from the leaves. Afternoon shade or filtered sun is fine. We suggest 6 hours of direct sunlight for best flowering.

Maintenance is minimal. It does not require pruning or deadheading, but can benefit from it. To keep your rose full and bushy from year to year prune the branches back to about 18 inches above the ground in late winter or early spring. After this hard pruning, your rose will quickly flush out and start blooming with the arrival of warmer spring temperatures. Deadheading spent flowers through the season is not necessary however will encourage more new buds and flowers.
