Growing Preferences
Red Hot Poker are very easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained to dry soil of average or even poor fertility. Though they will tolerate some light shade, they bloom their best in full to mostly sun. Maintenance is minimal to none. Plants can be cleaned up at the end of winter before ne growth emerges in spring.
Note: In USDA Zone 6 this plant will appreciate a layer of mulch for protection from the cold.
