Description
With handsome dark green foliage and a tight, pyramidal form that will be an exclamation point in your landscape, the Pyramid Boxwood will grow upwards of 12 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide at its base over time. That said, with an annual shearing in late winter the plant can be shaped as desired and maintained at a much lower height of 6 feet tall and width of 18 inches or so. Excellent as a specimen, flanking entryways, or as a narrow evergreen hedge.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 6 to 12 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide (depending on pruning), the Pyramid Boxwood is ideal for use as a specimen, in groupings, to flank entryways or frame corners, or as a narrow hedge. Excellent for use in pots, planters and other containers with a rim diameter of 12 inches or more. A fine addition to English gardens and formal gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 15 to 18 inches apart for solid hedges; 4 feet or more apart for space between plants
Growing Preferences
The Pyramid Boxwood requires a moist but well drained soil. Constantly wet soils are a killer. It grows in full sun or part shade or all-day lightly filtered sun. Can be sheared annually in late winter for shaping purposes or to control size.
