Pink new foliage in spring and white striped foliage throughout the rest of the season make Strawberries and Cream an exciting improvement over ordinary Ribbon grass. As a bonus, soft white flowers with a pink tint appear above the foliage in early to mid summer. A vigorous grower forming an upright, arching, spreading grassy mound to 3 feet tall and equally as wide or more, and preferring a consistently moist to wet soil, Strawberries and Cream is a beautiful selection for adding striking color and texture as an accent in small garden spaces and containers or in groupings or as a border in landscape beds, along paths and walkways, or around streams and other bodies of water. Resistant to insects and disease and you might be happy to know the deer and rabbits turn their nose up to this one.

Ribbon grasses are easy to grow in a moist to wet soil of average fertility and full sun to part shade. We suggest 6 hours or more of direct sunlight per day. Prune or mow before new growth begins to emerge in late winter or very early spring. At this time simply cut plants back to just above the ground.
