Thriving to Zone 9 of the South, this stellar hybrid is one of if not the most heat tolerant of deciduous rhododendrons, and it's cold tolerant to -10F in its northern range. Abundant large clusters of sweetly fragrant, funnel-shaped, tangerine-orange flowers flushed with peach put on a spectacular show that will always have you looking forward to spring. All grown up, Tangerine Beauty can reach 8 to 10 feet in height and maybe 6 to 8 feet wide. Growing 8 to 10 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide or so, the Tangerine Delight Orange Azalea is perfect for use a specimen in smaller garden spaces and home foundation plantings or as a specimen or in clusters in sunny or shady landscape or woodland borders. It flowers its heaviest with at least 4 hours of direct sunlight per day. As this native azalea grows taller lower branches can be removed to form a highly attractive small specimen tree. Also useful in pots, planters and other containers. A fine addition to azalea and rhododendron gardens, orange theme gardens, fragrance gardens, native plant gardens and cottage gardens. 

The Tangerine Delight Orange Azalea is very easy to grow in a moist but well-drained acidic soil of average or better fertility and full sun to part shade. To flower its best the plant will appreciate at least 4 hours of direct sunlight per day, preferably in the morning or evening hours, though will tolerate full sun with ample soil moisture. Once established, this species is moderately drought tolerant, requiring an occasionally watering only during prolonged periods of dry summer weather. Native azaleas are very low-maintenance requiring little if any pruning. That said, plants respond very well to pruning for tree forming and other shaping purposes.
