Description
The Georgia Peach Shrub Rose was discovered by local gardener Beth Steele in McDonough, Georgia in 2010, and introduced by Wilson Bros Gardens in 2012. It is an exceptionally low-maintenance shrub rose that produces an abundance of gorgeous, peachy-pink double blossoms starting in early- to mid-spring and repeating in cycles throughout the season. The blossoms have a light fruity fragrance and measure 3 to 4 inches across when fully open. They are excellent for cutting to use in fresh floral arrangements. Since we planted the first Georgia Peach Rose in our gardens in 2011, we have yet to see any disease on the attractive bluish-green foliage. Insect resistance has been remarkably good as well.

Landscape & Garden Uses
With an upright habit and rounded form to about 3 feet in height with a 3 foot spread, the Georgia Peach Shrub Rose is ideal for use as a specimen, in groupings, or as a low-maintenance hedge in landscape borders and home foundation plantings. Performs very well in pots, planters and other containers. As with the Knock Out Roses, the Georgia Peach is so disease-free it is one of the few roses we recommend for use in home foundation plantings, where they serve nicely as accents or hedges. A fine addition to rose gardens, pink theme gardens, cottage gardens and cut flower gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 2.5 to 3 feet apart for solid hedges; 6 feet or more apart for space between plants
Growing Preferences
The Georgia Peach Shrub Rose is exceptionally easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil with average or better fertility and full sun to part shade. Keep in mind, to avoid powdery mildew forming on the leaves, all roses require morning sun to dry the morning dew from their leaves, but will tolerate afternoon shade or filtered sun.
The Georgia Peach Rose does not require pruning, however can benefit from it. To keep your Georgia Peach Shrub Rose full and bushy from year to year prune the branches back to about 15 to 18 inches above the ground before new growth begins to emerge in late winter or early spring. After this hard pruning, you Georgia Peach Shrub Rose will quickly flush out and start blooming with the arrival of warmer spring temperatures. Deadheading spent flowers through the season is not necessary however will encourage new buds and more flowers.
