Description
The new Timeless Series of Heuchera are prized and awarded for their continuous show of flowers throughout the summer, and great foliage colors as well. 'Timeless Treasure' features abundant spikes of larger-than-usual rosy pink, bell-shaped flowers held well above the foliage continuously from late spring to late summer. The flowers contrast beautifully with the attractive, maple-like leaves in shades of pewter with a silver sheen and dark veining. Both butterflies and hummingbirds will thank you for planting this one.
Landscape & Garden Uses
The Timeless Treasure Heuchera is ideal for use as a solo or combined with other plants in garden beds or pots, planters and other containers. Excellent in groupings in garden beds and landscape borders, or as a border plant along paths and walkways. A fine addition to Heuchera gardens, woodland gardens, black theme gardens, rock gardens and perennial shade gardens.
In garden beds or containers, we like to combine Heuchera plants with other Heuchera varieties hosta lilies, perennial ferns and other part shade to shade loving plants and trees.
Suggested Spacing: 14 inches apart for solid groupings; 24 inches or more apart for space between plants
Growing Preferences
When planted right, and in the right spot Heuchera are easy to grow.
Sun Preference: Though Heuchera tolerate full sun in cooler zones north of USDA Zone 7 they appreciate some afternoon shade in USDA Zones 7-9. If grown in full sun, consistent moisture is very important. Scorch and general foliage decline may occur if soils are allowed to dry out for too long.
Soil Preferences: Heuchera prefer a moist but well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Constantly soggy or wet soil is problematic. In the warmer climates of the southern zones plants are often evergreen, retaining nice foliage color throughout the winter season. In colder, northern zones foliage may discolor or die back over a harsh winter. Simply prune unsightly foliage away before new growth begins to emerge in late winter or early spring. Plant with the top of the root ball even with ground level. Care and maintenance are minimal. Feed in spring with an organic plant food.
