Description
Unusual in that it blooms heavy in spring and then reblooms throughout the season, the Vivid Azalea is a Girard Hybrid showing off semi-ruffled, exceptionally vivid, cherry red flowers that will not go unnoticed, hence the name. The heavy early to mid spring bloom is followed by sporadic bloom all the way to frost. Reblooming is heavier if the plant is lightly trimmed after the spring bloom cycle. Maturing at about 3 feet tall and maybe 4 feet wide, the dense, deep green leaves serve as an excellent backdrop to the vivid flowers. A truly spectacular hybrid evergreen Azalea that packs a punch of color in the landscape!
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing to 2.5 to 3.5 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide, the Vivid Azalea is a perfect choice as an accent in smaller garden spaces or for groupings, mass plantings, low hedges in larger landscape borders, woodland gardens, and home foundation plantings. Butterflies love the flowers, and blooming branches serve very well for cutting to create stunning indoor floral arrangements. A fine addition to Azalea gardens, red theme gardens, cottage gardens, Asian theme gardens and partially shaded Woodland gardens.
