'Vulcan' is an exciting Hosta Lily with extremely showy variegated foliage perfect for lighting up shady areas of the garden. It features slug-resistant, bright white, twisting corrugated leaves with dark green margins and chartreuse to light green markings where the two contrasting base colors connect. From mid to late summer, very pretty, soft-lavender trumpet-shaped flowers atop tall white scapes will surely get the attention of hummingbirds and butterflies. A vigorous grower, Vulcan forms a lush, compact mound about 2 feet tall and 3 feet wide that is an excellent accent or grouped in shady garden beds and home foundation plantings.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing in a clump 18 to 24 inches tall and 3 feet wide, the Vulcan Hosta is ideal for use as an accent, in groupings, massed as a groundcover, or as a border along walkways and paths in shady landscape borders. We have no problem suggesting it for use in home foundation plantings. It is perfect under large shade trees, decks, covered porches, and any other shady location. Don't think you have any shade? Look on the east side of your home. Excellent for use in pots, planters, and other containers and a fine addition to mixed hosta gardens, hummingbird gardens, woodland gardens, and white theme gardens.

Growing Preferences
The Vulcan Hosta Lily is easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil of average fertility and shade or part shade. Morning and evening sun and all-day filtered sun or dappled shade are fine, but avoid the direct afternoon sun. No pruning necessary though spent flower stems can be removed after flowering.
