Description

The 2-in-1 Combo Cherry Tree is an excellent way for those with smaller properties and spaces to enjoy two types of delicious cherries growing on the same tree, which is accomplished by grafting. This tree combines the popular 'Montmorency' and 'Stella' varieties, both of which are self-fruitful, so you need only plant one tree to get bountiful fruit. Reaching 15 to 20 feet tall and equally as wide, this Combo Cherry tree is best planted in the ground; however, it can be grown in large containers or planters.

Montmorency Cherry Description

The Montmorency Cherry is a popular, self-fruitful sour cherry prized for its firm fruits with bright red skin and tart and tangy flesh. It is ideal for use in baking pies and preserves, juice, and other cooked products. It is a self-fruitful cultivar known for heavy yields, beautiful fragrant white spring flowers, and dark green foliage.

Stella Cherry Description

The Stella Cherry tree is prized for its large, heart-shaped, dark red cherries with a sweet and juicy flavor, making them perfect for fresh eating and desserts. It is a self-fruitful cultivar known for heavy yields, beautiful fragrant white spring flowers, and dark green foliage.

Wildlife Value
The bloom pollen from cherry trees is beneficial for bees as a food source in spring.

NOTE: As with all of our other plants and trees, all of our fruit plants are grown in containers outdoors so they are fully rooted and landscape-ready upon arrival.

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing 15 to 20 feet tall and equally as wide, the 2-in-1 Combo Cherry Tree is ideal for use as a specimen or in groupings in sunny landscape and garden borders. It is a fine addition to red them gardens, pollinator gardens, bird and wildlife gardens, edible landscapes, and cottage gardens.

Suggested Spacing:  25 feet for space between trees

Growing Preferences

The 2-in-1 Combo Cherry Tree grows best in moist, well-drained soil of average fertility and full to mostly sun; six or more hours daily for the heaviest flower and fruit production. Established trees are moderately drought-tolerant but will appreciate moist soil when there is fruit on the tree.
