Description
An Asian Pear lover's dream tree, the 4-in-1 Combo Asian Pear Tree is an excellent way for those with smaller properties and spaces to enjoy four varieties of delicious Asian pears growing on the same tree, which is accomplished by grafting. So, now you can save space and enjoy a range of flavors, all from one self-pollinating tree. As the name suggests, this tree contains four of the most popular and prized varieties: Kosui, Nijisseiki, Shinko, Shinseiki. Reaching 15 to 20 feet tall and equally as wide on average, this Combo Asian Pear tree is best planted in the ground; however, it can be grown in large containers or planters, but might need transplanting to the landscape if it outgrows the container over time. The fruits mature and are ready for harvest in mid-summer to late summer, depending on location.
Kosui Asian Pear Description
The Kosui Asian Pear is a prized Japanese Nashi pear variety loved for its medium-to-large, round, yellow-bronze, russeted fruit with a firm, crisp, and very juicy texture. It has a sweet, low-acid, full-flavored taste with complex vanilla and butterscotch notes. The fruits begin ripening in late summer and are excellent for fresh-eating or storing in the refrigerator for up to a month or more.
Nijisseiki Asian Pear Description
The Nijisseiki Asian Pear, also known as 20th Century, is a highly popular variety loved for its round, crisp, juicy fruit with yellowish-green skin and a texture similar to that of an apple, having a mild, sweet flavor. It produces a heavy crop of pears that begin to ripen in mid or late summer and are excellent for fresh eating and store well for up to several months.
Shinko Asian Pear Description
The Shinko Asian Pear is a Japanese variety prized for its medium to large, round, apple-shaped fruit with a golden-brown russet skin and firm, crisp, off-white flesh with a sweet, juicy flavor. The fruits start ripening in mid to late summer and are excellent for fresh-eating and storage for up to several months.
Shinseiki Asian Pear Description
The Shinseiki Asian Pear is a delectable variety prized for its medium-sized, round fruit with smooth, thin, pale yellow-to-light green skin covered in small brown freckles and crisp, very juicy, and creamy flesh with a sweet, mild flavor that can have a slight tartness. Highly productive, the fruits begin ripening in mid to late summer and store well for months in the refrigerator, making it a highly popular and flavorful choice.
