From the state of Georgia comes the Bridget Chloe Lavender, a super hardy cultivar that has withstood heat, humidity, and rain amazingly well in our Zone 8a, north-central Georgia gardens. The evergreen, disease-resistant, grey-green foliage holds up well throughout the year and emits a lavender aroma in the garden when even the slightest breeze blows. It is so wonderfully fragrant that the International Perfume Foundation gave it the Gold Award of Excellence in 2021. It forms a compact mound to about 30 inches tall and wide, from which numerous thin stems rise bearing elongated spires of pretty, bright purple flowers in early summer. Cold and heat-hardy in USDA Zones 5-9, and deer and rabbit-resistant, Bridget Chloe Lavender is excellent for borders, hedges, and containers. It's also fantastic for culinary uses, sachets, potpourri, and cut flowers. Needless to say, we adore this Lavender, and so do the butterflies, bumblebees, and other beneficial pollinators.

Growing to 30 inches tall and wide, Bridget Chloe Lavender is ideal for use as an accent in smaller garden spaces or container gardens. It is also lovely as a grouping, border, or hedge in garden beds, landscape borders, and along paths and walkways. It is a fine addition to herb gardens, culinary gardens, cut flower gardens, fragrance gardens, English gardens, cottage gardens, purple theme gardens, rock gardens, and the Xeriscape (low water needs).

Suggested Spacing:  24 inches apart for mass plantings or solid borders; 42 inches or more apart for space between plants

Lavender is easy to grow in moist to somewhat dry, well-drained soil with average to low fertility, and six or more hours of sunlight daily for best performance. Constantly soggy soil or standing water is problematic, so make sure the planting site is well-draining. If desired, the plant can be cut back by one-third of its height after flowering to maintain a fuller plant. For example, if your plant is 30 inches tall, you can cut it back to 20 inches tall.
