Description
An oldie-but-goodie evergreen Azalea that is one of our all-time favorites, 'Buccaneer' features LOADS of absolutely brilliant, large, funnel-shaped orange-red flowers in mid to late spring that can be seen from a mile away! Additional flushes of flowers often come again in late summer and fall. Established plants produce so many flowers they nearly cover the foliage. Butterflies and hummingbirds love the flowers and blooming branches serve very well for cutting to create stunning indoor floral arrangements. growing 4 to 5 feet tall and 5 to 6 feet wide, the mounded shrub is clothed in new dark, rich green leaves throughout the year.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing to 4 to 5 feet tall and 5 to 6 feet wide over time, the Buccaneer Azalea is ideal for use as an accent specimen in smaller garden spaces and home foundation plantings, or in groupings or as a natural hedge in partially shaded landscape and woodland borders. A fine addition to Azalea and Rhododendron Gardens, red theme gardens, butterfly and hummingbird gardens and cottage gardens.
