Description
'Cherryle' was selected for nut size and quality. Nuts are heavy at 41 nuts per pound and are filled with 56% kernel. The nuts shell out well into clean halves, and the kernel has nice oil content and no fuzzing. The nut is very oblong rather than round and it fits through a sizer easily. Scab resistance is very good. Black aphids are also not a problem on this cultivar. Cherryle has a softer, thin shell so is easier to crack than others. Nuts mature and are ready for harvest in early October.
Pecan nuts are a natural source of antioxidants, protein, unsaturated fats, and more.
Aside from producing some of the most delicious nuts on earth, pecan trees make very nice shade trees in the edible landscape. Ornamental features include the attractive pinnately compound deep green leaves that turn golden-yellow in fall, and slate-grey color bark that has a lightly fissured texture.

Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 60 to 70 feet tall and equally as wide, the Cherryle Pecan Tree is ideal for use as a shade tree and beauty in large landscapes. Because the tree drops a lot of nuts in late summer into fall, we suggest planting at least 35 feet away from a home. A fine addition to edible landscapes, wildlife gardens and native gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 80 feet for space between trees
Growing Preferences
The Cherryle Pecan tree is very easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil and full sun to part shade. Prefers moist, organically rich, well-drained soils and is intolerant of some shade. Very drought tolerant when established.
