Description

The Daub's Frosted Juniper is a colorful, hardy, easy-to-grow compact evergreen conifer that grows to around 2 feet tall and spreads 4 to 6 feet wide. Its soft and feathery-looking foliage emerges golden-yellow throughout the season and matures to blue-green for a two-tone effect. Its low and spreading habit and outstanding color and texture make it a fine selection as a border in landscape islands or groundcover to beautify and stabilize soil on slopes. It is also a lovely accent plant in rock gardens and home foundation plantings.

Landscape & Garden Uses

The Daub's Frosted Juniper is ideal as an accent plant in smaller garden spaces. It is superb for beautifying and stabilizing soil on embankments, slopes, and hillsides or as a lovely low border in sunny landscape beds and islands. It is also suitable under low windows in home foundation plantings. Those with an artistic eye and skillful pruning hand can create a pom-pom topiary with it. It is a fine addition to conifer gardens, rock gardens, yellow-themed gardens, and the Xeriscape (low water needs).

Suggested Spacing:  8 feet apart for space between plants

Growing Preferences

The Daub's Frosted Juniper is easy to grow in moist, well-drained soil of average fertility. Once established, water needs are pretty low when growing in the ground. As with many other conifers, constantly soggy or wet soils can be problematic, leading to root rot or other harmful plant diseases. So make sure to plant it in well-drained soil.
