Description
This is the eye-catching sculptured topiary form of the Daub's Frosted Juniper. Each specimen is a one-of-a-kind work of art. No two are alike. Daub's Frosted is a colorful, hardy, and easy-to-grow evergreen conifer with new growth that emerges golden-yellow through the season and matures to blue-green. This low-maintenance topiary might require just a couple of trimmings per year to maintain its form, adding a lot of character to any sunny garden space and destined to be a conversation piece. Being that every plant has its unique form, it is excellent as a specimen for home foundation plantings, rock gardens, patio gardens, and other outdoor living spaces where it will surely draw attention.
Landscape & Garden Uses
The Daub's Frosted Juniper Sculptured Topiary is ideal as a unique specimen in small to mid-size spaces or in a container of 18 inches or more in diameter. It is a fine accent in home foundation plantings and on or around patios, decks, and other outdoor sitting and living spaces. It is also a fine addition to conifer gardens, rock gardens, topiary gardens, and the Xeriscape (low water needs).
Suggested Spacing: Best as a specimen
Growing Preferences
The Daub's Frosted Juniper is easy to grow in damp to moist but well-drained soil of average fertility. Once established, water needs are pretty low when growing in the ground. As with many other conifers, constantly soggy or wet soils can be problematic, leading to root rot or other harmful plant diseases. So plant this one in well-drained soil, whether in the ground or pots. Choose a container with a drainage hole(s) and use a quality potting soil or potting mix, or a 50/50 mix of the two. In pots, soil moisture should be monitored more closely, especially during summer. When the top two inches of soil is dry, provide water.
Average Trimming Per Year: Two trimmings a year: once after new growth fully emerges in spring, and maybe again in summer if needed.
