Growing Preferences
Eastern Shooting Stars is easy to grow in a moist but well-drained soil of average or better fertility and part shade to shade. It prefers a humus-rich soil and filtered sun or shade during ther afternoon hours. It does not like a poor draining soil that stays wet. The plant goes into dormancy during summer, which means its foliage will naturally disappear. So, as mentioned above, don't be alarmed when this happens!
