Description
Putting an exciting new twist on California Lilac, 'Lemon Ice' features brightly variegated evergreen leaves with dark green centers surrounded by a wide, lemon-yellow to lime-green borders. From early to mid or late spring, abundant clusters of sweetly fragrant, icy blue flowers contrast subtly and beautifully with the foliage. An easy to grow plant that thrives in six or more hours of sun and almost any soil except constantly soggy, is drought tolerant when established, and grows 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide, Lemon Ice is excellent as an specimen in small garden beds or in groupings or as a hedge where space allows in larger borders and home foundation plantings. It is also a nice vertical centerpiece in containers, where it can be trimmed to form a pyramid or column. You might also be happy to know that deer turn their nose up to it.

Growing to around 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide, Lemon Ice California Lilac is ideal as a specimen, in groupings, or as a hedge in sunny landscape or flowering shrub borders. It is a lovely evergreen centerpiece in containers situated on or around patios and other outdoor sitting and living spaces where the bright foliage and fragrant flowers can be enjoped from close up. It is a fine addition to butterfly gardens, pollinator gardens, native gardens, blue-theme gardens, cottage gardens, fragrance gardens, sunny woodland borders, and xeric gardens (low water needs when established).
