An evergreen flowering hardy perennial plant that blooms all winter long? Meet 'Liara', an incredibly floriferous and easy-to-grow Helleborus that blooms her socks off from early winter through early spring. Liara displays large, outward-facing to nodding saucer-shaped flowers with white petals flushed in a soft dusky pink and dark purple-red to purple-pink streaks, veins and edges. The petals have a dark pink reverse. The abundant, long-lasting flowers are perched atop strong and sturdy stems which make them excellent for cutting and display in floral arrangements and bouquets. The nectar-rich flowers offer emerging winter bees an essential food source at a time when not much else is blooming in the garden. The flower stems rise above a handsome clump of evergreen, palm-like, leathery dark green leaves.  Virtually problem-free and exceptionally long-lived, this delightful winter bloomer thrives in partially shaded garden beds, even under the canopies of large trees, as well as in container gardens for situating on patios, porches, decks and around other outdoor sitting and living spaces.

Growing 18 to 20 inches tall and 2 feet wide or more over time, the Liara Helleborus is ideal for use as an accent in smaller spaces and containers or in groupings, massed as a groundcover in landscape and woodland borders, or as a border along walkways and paths.
