Description

Heavy blooming with a dramatic combination of foliage and flowers, the Pink Dynamo Mountain Hydrangea features lovely pink lacecap florets with white and yellow accents that contrast beautifully with the silky, almost black leaves. The bloom starts around late spring and then repeats continuously through summer. Her flowers held atop red stems are excellent for long-lasting fresh or cut dried flowers, but do leave some spent flowers on the shrub towards the end of the season for the birds to feed on. Peeling brown and cinnamon color bark provides winter interest in the garden.

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing to 3 feet tall and wide in a rounded mound, the Pink Dynamo Mountain Hydrangea is ideal for use as an accent in smaller garden spaces and containers or in groupings or as a low hedge in landscape, flowering shrub and woodland borders as well as home foundation plantings. A fine addition to hydrangea gardens, cottage gardens, cut flower gardens and pink theme gardens.

Suggested Spacing:  2 to 2.5 feet apart for solid hedges; 5 feet apart for space between plants

Growing Preferences

The Pink Dynamo Mountain Hydrangea is very easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil with average fertility and full sun to part shade in northern zones 5 and 6 and part shade (morning sun with afternoon shade or filtered sun) in southern zones 7 to 9. For best flowering, we suggest 4 hours of direct sunlight per day. As with so many other ornamental plants, a constantly soggy or wet soil is problematic.
