A multiple award winner, including Plant of The Year at the Chelsea Flower Show in London, England, 'Platinum Blonde' is a top notch English Lavender sporting showy variegated leaves of soft grey-green with wide, creamy soft-yellow margins that make this plant glow in the sunny garden. Beginning in early summer in the South and mid summer in the North and continuing through early fall, spikes of strongly fragrant, soft lavender-blue flowers rise above the neat and compact foliage mound. The flowers are a magnet to butterflies and other beneficial pollinators, and are excellent for cutting and use in flower arrangements and sachets. Also a fine culinary herb with a savory and sweet flavor. The fragrant foliage and oils from lavender are a staple in aromatherapy for their stress-relieving properties. Excellent for pots, garden beds and landscape borders. Just give this one at least 6 hours of sun per day and very well-drained soil and watch it grow.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 18 to 24 inches tall and nearly as wide, the Platinum Blonde Lavender is ideal for use as an accent in smaller garden spaces or a solo or combined with other plants in containers, and groupings or as a border in landscape and perennial borders. Mass plantings are truly breathtaking. A fine addition to herb gardens, rock gardens, fragrance gardens, culinary gardens, cottage gardens, butterfly and beneficial pollinator gardens.

Growing Preferences
Lavender is easy to grow in a moist to somewhat dry well-drained soil of average to low fertility and plenty of sun. It has good drought tolerance when established. Constantly soggy soil or standing water is problematic. If desired, the plant can be cut back by one-third its height after flowering to maintain a fuller plant. For example, if your plant is 18 inches tall you can cut it back to 12 inches tall.
