Growing 8 to 10 feet tall and 5 to 6 feet wide at its base, the Soft Serve False Cypress is ideal for use as an eye-catching specimen in smaller garden spaces and home foundation plantings or in groupings or privacy screes plantings where space allows. Use two to frame an entrance or the corners of homes and other structures. Its more compact size makes Soft Serve an excellent choice as a solo or combined with other plants in containers and is the [perfect outdoor Christmas tree! A fine addition to conifer gardens, rock gardens, formal gardens and Asian or Zen gardens.

Suggested Spacing:  5 feet apart for solid hedge (best in staggered pattern); 10 feet or more apart for space between plants

Soft Serve False Cypress is exceptionally hardy and easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil of average fertility and full sun to part shade. Foliage is fuller in full sun and more open in shade. We suggest a minimum of 5 hours direct sunlight per day. As with so many other ornamental plants, constantly soggy or wet soil is problematic. Avoid overwatering, providing only enough water to maintain a damp to moist soil. When established Soft Serve Cypress has moderate drought tolerance and would only need supplemental irrigation during prolonged periods of dry weather. No pruning required to maintain its naturally dense, pyramidal form, though specimens growing in more sun can be sheared lightly for an even more tight and formal look.
