Description

A cute, soft and huggable little evergreen conifer, at only 18 to 24 inches tall and wide when all grown up, Teddy Dwarf Globe Arborvitae is a perfect fit for small garden spaces and container gardens. A slow grower that more or less forms a globe, it has soft, tiny, star-like blue-green leaves which provide unique texture and color in the garden. The foliage usually takes on a handsome plum-bronze cast during winter. Excellent for miniature gardens and mini hedges!

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing only 18 to 24 inches tall and equally as wide, the Teddy Dwarf Globe Arborvitae is great for use as a specimen or in grouping in smaller garden spaces or as a low hedge or border in larger spaces. Its smaller stature makes if a perfect choice for pots, planters and other containers. A fine addition to miniature gardens, conifer gardens, rock gardens and formal gardens.

Suggested Spacing: 12-15 inches apart for solid hedge;  2.5 to 3 feet or more for space between plants

Growing Preferences

Teddy bear Arborvitae is easy to grow in a moist but well-drained soil of average fertility and full sun to part shade. As with so many other ornamental plants, constantly soggy or wet soil can be problematic. Maintenance is minimal with very little if any pruning ever required. A light shearing in late winter can be done for shaping purposes.
