Description

Sedum hispanic minus, what we call Tiny Buttons Sedum, but known by some folks as Purple Form Sedum or Little Blue Spanish Stonecrop, is a cute little plant that stands out big in the garden or in pots. Its tight blue-gray foliage matures to deep blue and then to purple hues when cold temperatures arrive. For several weeks in summer, sparkling white to soft pink flowers rise just above and nearly cover the foliage. Forming a dense mat to only 1 inch in height makes this one a perfect choice for filling gaps between stepping stones or as a groundcover or path border or as a spiller plant in pots, planters and other containers. Just make sure wherever you plant this drought tolerant plant that its feet won't stay wet for too long. Well drained soil is a must!

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing maybe 1 inch tall and spreading to 18 or more inches wide, Tiny Buttons Sedum is ideal for use as a groundcover plant or border along walkways and paths or around patios, to fill the gaps between stepping stones, surrounding, spilling over, and filling crevices around rocks and boulders , and also as a soil cover and spiller plant in container gardens. A fine addition to rock gardens, miniature gardens, and xeriscape gardens (low water needs).

Suggested Spacing:  15 inches apart for mass planting
